Safety information for Cassia Essential Oil

Please visit our General Essential Oil Safety Information page for important safety guidelines on using essential oils.

Specific Safety Information: USE WITH CAUTION in aromatherapy. Cassia essential oil is non-toxiic. However, it is irritating to the skin and can cause sensitisation. The oil contains 75-90% cinnamaldehyde that is the cause of the cassia's potent dermal sensitiser and irritant. See essential oil Safety by Robert Tisserand and Tony Balacs, published by Churchill Livingstone in 1995 page 204.
