Organic lavender hydrosol—also commonly called lavender herbal distillate—is the aromatic, water-based solution produced during the steam distillation of organically grown lavender flowers (Lavandula angustifolia). 
Unlike concentrated essential oil, a hydrosol is much milder because it contains the water-soluble compounds and trace microscopic drops of the plant’s essential oil. The “organic” label means the lavender plants were cultivated and harvested without the use of synthetic pesticides or chemical fertilizers.
