Profile

Salvia lavendulaefolia is an evergreen shrub with narrower leaves than the garden variety of Sage, more spear-like. An aromatic scent is obvious all over the plant, somewhat reminiscent of spike lavender. For that reason, it is also known as Lavender Sage. The shrub displays small, light purple flowers. Sage Spanish Essential Oil is steam distilled from the dried leaves of the plant. The color of the oil is pale yellow. Sage Spanish Essential Oil, like Sage Dalmatian, has a fresh, warm, spicy, herb-like, slightly camphoraceous aroma.

FACT: The generic name of Sage comes from the Latin salvere, ‘to save’ or ‘to heal’. It has been considered as a sacred herb dating back centuries. In days gone by it was used in the form of herbal infusions, gargles, and poultices, particularly for mouth and throat infections and headaches. The Spanish Sage is closely related to Sage (Salvia officinalis), which has a long history in Western herbal medicine.
