“…the strong, bittersweet spiciness of tea tree essential oil invigorates the heart and mind, uplifting the spirit and building confidence.” (Moay G. Aromatheraay for healing the spirit. Hodder and Stoughton, UK, 1996.)

Melaleuca alternifolia is a fast-growing shrub with needle thin leaves. It is a native Australian tree growing in the North East region of New South Wales, bordering Queensland. There are over 300 varieties of Melaleuca, however, only one, the M. alternifolia, contains large amounts of antiseptic and fungicidal constituents. While any species of melaleuca that conforms to the standard ‘Oil of Melaleuca; Terpinen-4-ol type’ can be traded as Australian tea tree oil, only M. alternifolia, represents the official Australian Tea Tree Oil, representing 99% of Australian world trade volume in dollars. Tea Tree Essential Oil is steam distilled from the leaves and terminal branches of the shrub. The color of the oil is pale-yellow to almost clear. Tea Tree Bush Still Essential Oil has a warm, fresh, spicy, camphor-like scent.

Australian Tea Trees of similar quality and form are cultivated and harvested to create Premium Tea Tree Oil.  This universal consistency increases a higher 1,8-cineole and Terpinen-4-OL content. 12 months from planting, the trees are ready for harvesting at soil level, this produces a shredded stem that encourages rapid regeneration.

After years of research in Australia, it has been found that Tea Tree Oil is an active ingredient against all three (3) major infectious organisms of bacteria, fungal and viruses.

The Aromatherapy Place offers a variety of AUROMA Tea Tree Essential Oils to suit your preference. FACT: The Australian aborigines have long recognized the virtues of tea tree. The leaves were simply crushed in the hand and the volatile oil inhaled to relieve colds and headaches. The name tea tree was first used by Captain Cook in 1777, when the leaves of melaleuca or leptospermum were brewed to make a tea to prevent scurvy.
