Chamomile is an aromatic, annual herb, growing up to 23 inches high, with delicate feather type leaves and beautiful daisy-like white flowers on a solitary stem. It is steam distilled from the dried flower heads of M. recutita. The true oil is a deep, inky-blue color and is somewhat viscous. It has a characteristic, strong, sweet, green-herb scent with almost apple like back notes. This Chamomile German Organic Essential Oil contains normal levels of azulene.
The Oil is extensively used in cosmetics. German Chamomile is one of the gentlest essential oils. It has similar qualities as Roman Chamomile, except that its anti-inflammatory properties are greater because of the higher content of azulene.
For those of you who would like to enjoy the exquisite aroma and wonderful properties of AUROMA Chamomile German Organic Essential Oil at a more affordable price, you can find it right here on-line at The Aromatherapy Place as a 5% dilution in Jojoba. The high cost of this essential oil is largely due to the substantial volume of natural product required in the distillation process.
The Aromatherapy Place offers a variety of AUROMA Chamomile Essential Oils to suit your preference. Over time, treat yourself to a special sensual experience by trying and comparing the qualities of each. There are slight variations in odor, color, and the levels of constituents within each oil. However, the oils are similar and can be used in place of one another.
FACT: Historically, the herb and nursery trades have known two types of Chamomile: the German type, M. recutita, and the English (Roman) type, A. nobilis. The German and Roman Chamomiles are very distinguishable, and the effects of one can in no way be associated with the other.
