Profile

“When you react to others with aggression and irritation, it is time to reach for sandalwood.” (Fisher-Rizzi S. Complete aromatherapy handbook. Sterling Publishing Company, USA, 1990.)

Santalum album sometime grows to a height of almost 40 ft. It is most suitable to harvest when it reaches 30 years and older. Full maturity is considered at 60 – 80 years. The tree is a parasite which sends out suckers to the roots of other trees. When the Sandalwood Tree dies, it allows termites to attack the tree, which leaves the aromatic and highly oil-laden heartwood intact. Sandalwood East Indian Essential Oil is steam or water distilled from the powdered wood and major roots of the evergreen. The color of the oil is pale yellow to yellow. The Oil has a tenacious, deep, soft, sweet, smokey, woody, balsamic aroma.

The use of Sandalwood East Indian Essential Oil in aromatherapy stretches back beyond the birth of recorded history. A wonderful investment for every individual practicing aromatherapy. It is without question, the finest available Sandalwood.

NOTE: Highly revered for its use in religious and spiritual ceremonies (as incense and as wood for religious carvings), Sandalwood also developed as an important medicinal plant in the traditional medical systems of Indian Ayurveda, Tibetan and Chinese medicine. Only in recent centuries has Sandalwood Oil been available to the rest of the world – outside of India and China..
